Communication Committee

The Communication Committee of TAD aims to raise public awareness of Deaf issues through public policy, education, and activities. It keeps track of relevant legislative matters, informs TAD members and the public about developments, promotes coordination with other organizations, and presents issues to the Board for action. The committee also encourages Texas residents to join TAD, ensures regional information sharing, and submits activity reports to the Vice President.

Finance Committee

Finance Committee consists of three or more members appointed by the President with the TAD Treasurer serving as Chair. This Committee is responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall fiscal health through a variety of activities, including the fundraising done by the Board of Directors.

The Deaf Texan (TDT)

The Deaf Texan (TDT) is one of the oldest, continuously published newsletters in Texas. The Deaf Texan is published free of charge to TAD members four (4) times a year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, to keep TAD Members up-to-date with the latest news.

The TAD Archives is a collection of all previous editions and copies of The Deaf Texan, whether in print or video format.  This committee seeks to preserve, catalog and secures the archives as part of the history of the Texas Deaf Community.

The Texas Association of the Deaf is seeking a Host City and a Chairperson for the 2025 TAD Conference. This will be the 51st Convention of the TAD and will include fun activities, workshops, general meetings, elections, and more.

Legislation Committee

The Legislation Committee is focuses on issues directly related to Deaf Priorities are established with direct input from the Deaf Community and is collected through town halls, symposiums, and public comment. Currently, TAD has a special committee focused on advocacy and government relations.

Youth Ambassador Program (YAP)

Youth Ambassador Leadership wants to inspire Deaf and Hard of Hearing Texans between ages 14-30 to become empowered and develop leadership skills! This is an exciting opportunity for young Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth to become the future leaders in the Deaf Community.

Disaster Relief Committee offers assistance to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Texan survivors who went through the natural disaster event. This committee is established to offer financial support to  develop a future disaster relief fund for future survivors.
